Goals of PTSA

• To promote the welfare of children and youth in home, school, community and place of worship.
• To raise the standards of home life.
• To secure adequate laws for the care and protection of children and youth.
• To bring into closer relation the home and the school, that parents and teachers may cooperate intelligently in the education of children and youth.
• To develop between educators and the general public united efforts that will secure for all children and youth the highest advantages in physical, mental, social and spiritual education.

  Membership application 2011-12

In New York State, more than 385,000 parents, grandparents, teachers, students, caregivers, school and government officials belong! Anyone who cares about children can belong to PTSA. Membership in a local unit is all-inclusive and automatically gives you membership in the State and National PTSA. It also entitles you to a broad selection of programs and services that would otherwise be unavailable to local parent groups.

You alone determine what role you want to play in PTSA. Your choices range from becoming a member and seeing your membership fee help to improve the lives of our children, to getting involved in some of the programs, committees and activities that PTSA sponsors. School units generally hold PTSA meetings once a month, and welcome all members to participate and get involved depending on where their interests lie. The Hamburg Executive Board holds meetings once a month. It also holds open board meetings twice a year (generally in October and May) which all PTSA members are welcome to attend.
